Some of my pros and cons for using an adjustable trailer hitch

Growing up on a cattle farm in Oconto, Wisconsin was one of the best parts of my life. It instilled good work ethics and taught me how to live off the land. Although it was hard work, it was rewarding in and of itself. Needless to say, I learned a lot from my father living on that farm, which allowed me how to perform my chores independently. Some of those chores were bailing hay, loading and transporting cattle, harvesting the corn for the silage storage, etc. The one thing that all of those tasks had in common was the use of an adjustable trailer hitch. We had several different sized trailers, depending on what needed to be hauled and what mode of transportation we were going to use to transport the trailers. The adjustable trailer hitch was perfect for this because I could adjust the height of the hitch and it was quite easy, even with its many parts and components.

At first I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it, but after my father showed me how to do it, it was so easy. I remember losing some of the smaller pieces, I think it was the pin, and without the pin the hitch is unuseable, and my father made me not only go get a new one from town, but pay for it out of my allowance. ( I was pretty upset because I was saving up for a trip to Chicago with some of my friends that summer and we used the WEIGH SAFE ADJUSTABLE BALL MOUNT WS6-2, which was not cheap to me at that age.) The adjustable trailer pins themselves are easy to use, but they can bend easily, which made one of our transports very unstable and we had to pull over, in fear of losing the trailer we were hauling altogether. The adjustable trailer hitch never needed to be greased and as long as I kept it cleaned from the dirt, dust, and debris I didn't have any problems using it.

One thing I will mention is that the pins are sharp and can scratch your hitch really easy so you need to be careful when connecting and disconnecting the hitch to one of your trailers. All and all, an adjustable trailer hitch was perfect for our cattle farm. It fit any height we needed it to for all the different types of trailers we used and it was easy to maintain. Just don't lose the small parts and don't forget to clean the debris from the pin holes, or you're going to have a tough time inserting and removing the pin to adjust the hitch. And remember, if you lose that pin, the hitch is garbage and you have to replace the entire adjustable trailer hitch altogether. Good luck, and happy trailing!
